An Awful Awful is a commitment. It's a meal in itself. But sometimes you want something different — something you eat with a spoon, something where you can see and taste every component separately before it all comes together. That's what a sundae is for.
Newport Creamery sundaes start with the same house-made ice cream that goes into our Awful Awfuls. That means you're already starting with a better foundation than 95% of the ice cream shops out there. What you put on top of it is where the fun begins.
The Classics
Hot Fudge Sundae: The standard-bearer. Our hot fudge is thick, rich, and served warm so it creates that beautiful contrast between the hot topping and cold ice cream. Get it with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Don't overthink it.
The Holy Cow Sundae: This is the sundae for people who want it all. Multiple scoops of ice cream, multiple toppings, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. It's named after our cow mascot and it's exactly as indulgent as that implies.
Staff Secret Combinations
We asked our team across all eight locations for their personal favorite sundae builds. Here's what they said:
The "After Shift" Special: Coffee ice cream, caramel sauce, crushed Oreos. Multiple staff members independently named this as their go-to. The coffee-caramel combination is legitimately addictive.
The "PB&J": Strawberry ice cream with peanut butter sauce. It sounds weird. It's incredible. The nutty richness of the peanut butter with the fruity sweetness of the strawberry ice cream creates something that tastes like childhood in a bowl.
The Minimalist: One scoop of vanilla, hot fudge, nothing else. Several of our most experienced team members — the ones who've been here for years — all gravitate toward simplicity. When the ice cream is this good, sometimes less really is more.

The make-your-own sundae isn't just for kids. Adults, we're giving you permission to pick your own ice cream flavor, your own toppings, and build exactly the sundae you want. Nobody's going to judge you for putting gummy bears on your ice cream. (We might silently respect you for it.)
